Our award-winning team of Sound Designers, Sound Editors and Mixers deliver imaginative solutions that harness the power of sound for film and television productions.
At 230 square metres, the Sydney studio comprises of six sound editing rooms, a mixing room equipped with an Avid S4, Dolby Atmos and a Christie DLP projector with 2m x 3m screen, in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere.
From concept through to final production, our creative and technical team has the expertise to deliver quality sound production and mixing to highest industry standards.
Over Twenty Years of Top Experience
Robert Mackenzie has been enriching the film world with his creative soundscapes for over twenty-five years;
completing soundtracks for some of the world’s most influential directors while garnering numerous accolades
from just about every prestigious source both in Australia and internationally.
In 2021 Rob and his team completed the sound design and mixing of Jane Campion’s THE POWER OF THE
DOG, which was nominated for an Oscar for Best Sound, George Miller’s THREE THOUSAND YEARS OF
LONGING, NO EXIT, RIVER (directed by Jennifer Peedom), and Season 3 of MR INBETWEEN for which the team
won the ASSG Award for Best Sound.
From January 2020 until February 2021 Rob and the RMS team spent their COVID lockdown time creating the
energetically fueled, action-packed, number one at the box office, AACTA winning soundtrack for MORTAL
KOMBAT, along with updating Wong Kar Wai’s masterpieces; CHUNGKING EXPRESS and IN THE MOOD FOR
LOVE, for the Criterion Collection.
In 2019 Rob completed work on David Michôd’s medieval epic, THE KING, as well as Will Gluck’s hilariously,
cheeky, PETER RABBIT 2.
In 2018 Rob completed the Sound Design and Mix on Jennifer Kent’s, THE NIGHTINGALE, Mirrah Foulkes’,
JUDY & PUNCH, and MYSTIFY, the AACTA winning, Michael Hutchence Documentary.
2017, Rob brought home the Oscar, the Motion Picture Sound Editor’s Guild Award (MPSE) and Australia’s
AACTA all for his work on Mel Gibson’s 2017 emotionally charged war film, HACKSAW RIDGE. This was in
addition to receiving the BAFTA nomination and AACTA Win for Sound Design for Garth Davis’, internationally
adored LION.
Last year Rob completed Daina Reid’s Run Rabbit Run, and Garth Davis’ FOE, and Glendyn Ivin’s seven-
episode TV drama, THE LOST FLOWERS OF ALICE HART.
2023 has the RMS team working on George Miller’s, FURIOSA, the next chapter in the internationally
renowned, MAD MAX saga.
